If you want to be confident and prepared for your next job interview then be prepared to turn your answers into stories. This was the theme of this really fun and engaging workshop held at the Annette Street Public Library on the evening of May 28th. It was an enthusiastic audience full of spunk and courage. They were ready to be the super heroes of their own stories. Prepared and ready to solve problems, take action and get results with passion and emotion
Yes, Its a story, yet its not fiction! You need to know ‘What’s in It for Them’ (WIIFT) and what you have to offer each employer at every interview. Be ready to present real life examples with the kind of specific and concrete evidence that employers want to know about you. Your stories are a powerful tool. Use them to: provide specific and concrete evidence of your skills and experience, engage with your audience (listener) at an emotional level and make an impact that will be remembered.
Participants left with some powerful interview strategies to be better prepared for their next job interviews. They left with the tools to be better prepared to their own story and be able to confidently master their next job interview.
Preparation is the key to success. Do your research. Research the employer and WIIFT. You can anticipate the questions and what they will be interested to know about you. Write down the questions. Write down your skills and experience and match them once again to the job posting and the employers need. Then start structuring your answers into real life examples that demonstrate your skills and answer the questions. You will be surprised at how successful you have been at solving problems and getting results. Build your confidence by being prepared! When you are confident you will shine! You can succeed!
